As of March 15, 2012 new ADA Standards took effect! Local building departments do not check plans for compliance with the ADA standards.

M+A reviews plans, specifications and construction at all stages for compliance with state and federal accessibility requirements. From basic tenant improvements to new high-rise construction, we make sure our clients apply the appropriate standards to achieve project compliance.

M+A understands the complex (and sometimes confusing) requirements for newly constructed multi-family housing and can assist our clients to complete the New Home Universal Design Checklist pursuant to section 17959.6 of the California Health & Safety Code.

Our staff is experienced in developing workable solutions and determining equivalent facilitation when full compliance is technically impossible. We also work with owners, architects and contractors to resolve issues with local building departments.

M+A staff are ICC Certified Accessibility Inspectors/Plans Examiners and Certified Accessibility Specialists under the California Division of the State Architect's CASp program.
